Itinerary:
Day 1:
It is best to drive up to a base camp in Solang, which is 12 kilometres away from Manali. This is the moment at which the hike begins in earnest. To arrive to Dhundi, get on foot and travel for 8 kilometres along the banks of the Beas River. The first part of the journey is long and gradual.
The trek is rather straightforward and leads to beautiful views of Deo Tibba, Indrasan Peak, and Hanuman Tibba. After arriving in Dhundi, continue trekking until you reach a little bridge on the trail. Bakerthach is reached after crossing the bridge. Spend the rest of the day in Bakethach relaxing and exploring.
Day 2:
The second leg of the walk from Bakerthach is a little more difficult, but it’s also more beautiful. A little lake can be seen a short distance from Dhundi as you begin your trek from Bakerthach. The Beas Kund is a tiny lake that is thought to be the source of the Beas River. The formation of this small kund or lake was caused by the melting of the alpine glacier on the way to the kund.
