Home is our secure space and our(Furniture shops in sunderland) comfort zone for our four children. I am passionate about creating a space where both my spouse and me.
Our two daughters can spend time together, connect with God, and experience the security and security of home.
I want it to be a place that is comfortable and cozy as if you were wrapped with a blanket, warm and dry on a rainy, cold day.
When Furniture approached me about joining forces in the Power of the American Home Campaign.
I was ecstatic to design a relaxing, cozy area in the only room in our home that received minimal attention throughout our first ten decades of married life.
Julia’s husband reads to his daughters while they sleep. Space
My bedroom has always been a dream of mine. To feel like a sanctuary in which we can retreat and unwind. It’s where we gather and discuss the day.
It’s also our “date-night movie place. Before, when our kids took their beds, that’s where we read books or let them play in the air and where they wanted to be placed over the pillows.
Let’s face it. There are many Saturday mornings where we get up with the four of us tucked in together (elbows together and everything.)
New design Options for Beds
Before this transformation, we were in dire require of getting a brand new mattress. The old one was deteriorating.
Which was the main reason for this revamp. However, deciding on the bed type would be the most challenging part.
I’ve always wanted a gorgeously soft, upholstered bed, and my husband always wanted a more formal, wood-based version.
Since I am the one who makes the majority of the designs and interiors in our house and his desire for a bed made sense to me.
I went to the local retailer and saw the beautiful hand-crafted wooden beds that sealed the deal. I no longer had difficulty choosing suitable wood due to the stunning artistry.
Also, I loved the notion of a craftsman who could customize it for us by hand. They make their living in the lowlands of the Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains.
In which my husband attended college. I am a huge fan of antiques as they tell a story, which is why I loved the idea that our new Furniture would be a part of a story.
Heritage Maple Tall ChestIn the final analysis, the quality made it an easy choice. We chose to go with the wood solid Benchmade Heritage Maple Upholstered bed.
Its finish is Park Avenue, and the fabric is Oatmeal Performance Heathered Texture. We went with the equally stunning Heritage Maple Tall Chest, with the same finish to store my husband’s clothes.
A peek into the Design Process.
I had a lot of fun bringing this space into being and creating the comfortable atmosphere we are fond of.
I spent hours looking over the various rugs and fabrics on display. My idea to decorate the space (after that beds) was the hand-knotted Trajani neutral rug.
I love a stunning high-end rug, particularly hardwood flooring.
Bedroom view of rug and mirror To increase the cozy aspect, I put the Duke Rug on my husband’s side and added the ultra-comfortable Pippa chair.
It’s one of my favorite chairs, and I picked the Reaxion foam cushion with a rustic brown finish and cream-colored fabric with silver stripes.
I completed this part of the room by adding the floor lamp Welburn. The All-seasons linen Acadia Charcoal throw so we could have a place to read as well.
Furniture selection process
My favorite aspect of the furniture selection process was the flexibility of choices. I was awed by mixing textures, fabrics, and finishes.
I chose to layer browns and grays and use both colors to create the Pippa ottomans that sit at the foot of the bed.
(These are Brindle-finished with a Fog-striped material) I love mixing neutrals, and I want to ensure that you have plenty of textures.
Little girl gazing at the mirror in the Kentridge Leaner Lawrence Grey throw at the end of our bed gave the look of woven I was looking for.
The white Sutton quilt gives the perfect texture and warmth to our bed. The drapes are a favored option.
Custom lined and expertly tailored using the taupe tape. They provide a warm and inviting look to the sides of our beds and complete the room.
I chose to add a touch of drama to the room by using The Kentridge Leaner Mirror. It’s big and elegant and could be one of my top choices for this revamp.
I love how it reflects the light and makes the bedroom appear more prominent.
Additionally, our daughters have made it their preferred space to sing, dance, and make a lot of silly smiles.
family reading together in final Thoughts
I was awed by the furniture options and appreciated the ability to customize the Furniture we bought. I’m thrilled that our living space is an escape.
It’s also nice to know that even though the Furniture fits our classic style, other pieces from the showroom could be equally effective in a contemporary or transitional space.
In our bedroom, our room, this Bmakeover was what we needed to make the warm, cozy, and relaxing space I had hoped for.
