Because of this high demand, manufacturers are creating them in an assortment of shapes, sizes, and materials to meet expanding customer tastes. This growing list of available choices introduces additional opportunities for natural cleaning procedures. No matter material, there are universal strategies to clean blinds that are environmentally friendly and effective.
Any sort of feathers, microfiber, cotton cloth, or soft hair duster will work nicely. Move from side to side in precisely the exact same way as the slats. Begin at the top as dust or dirt may fall onto lower slats during cleaning. Another alternative is with a paintbrush. They have soft bristles, come in a number of sizes, and allow for comprehensive work if necessary.

Just like your bed’s comforter or curtains, fabric blinds can become cluttered over time and might require a bit more”Umph!” Then a Do-It-Yourselfer can provide. We recommend taking them to a neighborhood dry cleaner for professional cleaning.
Wooden Blinds.
Soft dusters, microfiber fabrics, vacuum cleaners, and rubber combs are all options for cleaning wooden blinds. In limited quantities, water may also be effective. Be sure to wash the pliers immediately. Allowing them to soak is not suggested.
Metal Blinds.
You can exercise a bit more freedom with the cleanup of metal blinds. One method is to put them in an open place in a towel or carpet. Use a mix of (mostly) water and dishwashing liquid and wash the distance of the slat with a soft rag, brush, or microfiber cloth. Rinse the slat and flip it to let the water drain. Repeat until done. If it seems that the water is not draining well enough, wipe the slat(s) using a dry microfiber cloth.
Mini Blinds.
Do you happen to have an older pair of white cotton gloves laying about? We’ve got friends who use them for cleaning. Mix white vinegar (love vinegar!) And warm water in equal portions. Dip your fingers to the solution (gloves on) and rub across both sides of the blinds.

- Combine baking soda and water to remove mold or dirt from the window tracks.
